The Hinton Mills Story

Our great-grandfather, Frank L. Hinton, opened the first Hinton Mills store in 1918 to serve his neighbors in Plummers Landing, Ky. Over the years, his general store evolved into a major feed supplier and became the first retailer in northeastern Kentucky to recognize the need for complete one-stop shopping farm supply stores.

For a century, we’ve been the leader in our area for farm-related merchandise. Our wide range of products satisfies important farmer needs with the highest quality feed, seed, fertilizers, animal health items, fencing material, livestock handling equipment, and automatic livestock watering fountains. We stock lawn, garden and crop protectants, and organic products.

We also carry many items that you would expect to find around an old-fashioned general store, such as paint, hardware, work clothes and boots, stoves, hunting items, pocket knives, country hams, and our very own coffee.

Now with five locations, Hinton Mills continues to be known not only for quality and value in our products, but also for our trustworthy people. For 100 years, the courteous folks at Hinton Mills have taken pride in our company and satisfaction in providing you with the products and service you deserve!
